Visiting Coordinator
Maria (Mary) Katsarou

Systemic Psychotherapist -

 Social Worker

Maria (Mary) Katsarou is a person who has wanted to make people smile since she was a child. As a social worker, systemic psychotherapist and certified adult educator, she approaches human vulnerability with deep respect and care. For more than three decades, she has been on the front lines of pain, taking on positions of high scientific responsibility at the 18 ANO Addiction Unit and supporting prisoners in Korydallos and Avlona prisons. This long-standing experience has shown her how to function as a “bridge” for reintegration, while leading her to expand her intervention to prevention, systematically training and supporting groups of parents in the Municipality of Elefsina.

With her extensive experience in family and systemic therapy, she supports individuals and couples in restoring their relationship with themselves and strengthening their interpersonal bonds. She is a member of the Hellenic Society of Systemic Psychotherapists (HELSYTH) and the European Association of Family Therapy (EFTA), actively contributing to the development of the field. Today, all this love and accumulated experience are transformed into essential daily support.

At the core of her work is her deep belief that people may be hurt in difficult circumstances, but when they find themselves in a truly safe and supportive environment, they can heal and evolve.
